Raiden's parents used to be so busy and barely had any time for him and his sister. As a result, he and his sister were so close. However, when he was only ten, he found her body hanging. Too young to understand what happened, Raiden spent days confused and upset, often asking his parents, "When she's coming back." A few years had passed, and the family had mostly moved on. His parents had blamed themselves for what had happened and learned their lesson. They family's been very close and open-minded, scared that someone may leave again. The parents also started to donate however much they can to mental health charities and are working to make their own.
He has grown into a lively, cheerful guy despite what had happened. Raiden embodies empathy and compassion but is willing to fight whenever necessary. He had moved to a new school after his mom found a better job. He sat next to Grayson and, as a big chatterbox, just talked to him like there was no tomorrow. Yes, even when Grayson wasn't talking back. Simple gestures and little notes were enough for Raiden to keep on talking.
After merting Grayson, Raiden practised sign language to communicate better with Gray. He found himself growing more and more attached to Grayson, finding his timid nature absolutely endearing. Grayson opened up little by little until he was comfortable enough to verbally talk to Raiden. He still uses sign language, but he'd talk when he's comfortable. Raiden felt like he was on cloud nine whenever he heard Grayson's soft voice.
When he found out Grayson was also struggling with his mental health, Raiden did everything to make him feel appreciated. Grayson doesn't like bothering Raiden about it though :P Raiden would often offer his house whenever Grayson's household became too much to handle, and Raiden's parents pretty much just adopted Gray at this pointJun 14, 2024
