How long does it usually take for you to complete / get a decent amount done in digital art? I’ve been working on a piece for a few hours and I’m still not happy with it :( I’m so new to this lol, I don’t want to feel like I’m wasting my timeAug 7, 2021

Everyone works at a different pace, don't compare yourself to others. Speed usually comes with practice and your time is never wasted if you're learning.
The range is just literally- Idek- can it even be considered a range because I’d say 1-10 hours sometimes I’m really focused in then finish the drawing the day I started it and sometimes I work on a piece over a month because I’m busy
When doing digital art, I'm a lot slower than I'd like to be since I have to use my finger, but usually a fully colored piece takes many hours for me, especially if it's full body.

Even some of my doodles/sketches end up taking several hours💀 it's so annoying
If you are new to digital art, it’s gonna take a while to be happy with it. Sometimes it gets to the point Ill spend too much time on something and then grow to dislike it even more. So I say, just be patient with yourself. Find what you don’t like, and change it the next time!
Hours wise it could take me 4 to 8 hours to do simple digital things. I doubt you're wasting your time. It takes a lot of practice.
Omg, sometimes like a whole month. I get distracted way to much through the whole drawing no matter what it is
Btw a professional illustrator advised spending 10hours or so on a piece. He said it surprised him when other pro illustrators told him it took 6 hours. Never be ashamed to spend the amount of time you feel is appropriate. But if you start to get irritated with the piece you can toss it online and move on. That's what I do 😂😅
Two days (10 maybe hours) on my recent ones like the space themed one or the pink dragon (three if you take into account the all nighter I keep pulling). But that's the longest I've spent. Most of the time I spend anywhere from 3 to 6 hours.

I think taking a day long break after the sketch gives a clearer idea of what I want to achieve.

I don't do complex pieces, or it might have taken longer. I've heard some people say they've spent nearly a week on a piece.
Two to four hors
For me, depends on complexity. Even sketches can take me over an hour, and it's not unlikely for rendered pieces to take me 10 hours. 😅
Don't get discouraged if it takes you a while! It doesn't detract from the worth of your work.
