roomcritique for perspective and colouring is very welcome!
sorry for my absence! my phone has been acting up recently and i hope i can get it fixed! I drew this drawing while sitting in my mothers bed and i thought ‘what if i drew exactly what i saw now?’ Ofcourse i changed a couple of things, the room was too detailed for me to fully capture but i think it still looks similar! Instead of coloring with watercolors like i usually do, i decided I’d use the pencils that’ve been in my room for so long they could almost be classified as relics Oct 9, 2024
Nice! The main thing to note that could help you with perspective work right now would probably be looking at curves. Like the lamp shade, the flower pot and the pants on the legs. Depending where in space they are and with that from wich perspective you look at them they seem to curve in different ways.
The pant legs are a nice example. Like this with the lines relatively straight they look flatter than they actually are. If you use more curved lines depending on the angle they will look more threedimensional, like the gloves on the Leila picture on your gallery~
Getting to know a bit more about perspective construction and doing a couple should also help getting the free hand one not looking off (even if it’s a pain in the ass x-x"). A nice way to practice there after having an overview is to pick a big piece of paper, drawing in a horizon line and two vanishing points and then adding shapes in bit by bit. Overlapping each other, behind, above and below. Helps a lot with seeing where and how stuff can look and create space. Also interesting to do with a couple of people drawing on the same paper.
