i would recommend starting out with huion 1060p; it’s relatively cheap and a good quality
i used it for quite a while before upgrading to screen
personally i prefer a drawing tablet than an ipad; ipad is just really uncomfortable to draw on for me so i would always pick a drawing tablet over it
