Null Portrait(s)
So usually with my masked characters (like Black Heart) I keep their face reveal to myself because “spoilers” to my (lack of) audience for the suspense. And also in the beginning when I created Null I didn’t really have an appearance in mind so I kept it a mystery of sorts but I was like screw it let me see what he looks like under those bandages and post it. In the story in my head when Null finally gets their bandages off their hair starts off cropped/ was cut down very short. He used to have longer hair before he was forced to wear the bandages (and straitjacket). The people who experimented on them shaved it down or made sure its kept short. Also if you are going to ask me if Null can see through the bandages I wasn’t exactly sure how to answer that but I guess my bullshit answer is they can kind of “see” like think of it like you put something semi opaque over your eyes and to Null his vision is “blurry” so they rely on a type of psychic “sonar” to “see”. Which brings me to the second picture of Null with the bandages. As a artistic choice I drew a section where you can see their eye. In reality their face is fully covered no room to see any facial features but if I were to make a comic of their story when scenes are focused on Null you’d see their eye but in scenes where Null is in the same panel as lets say his emotional support human Bruno we’d see the face fully covered but that depends. Anyways I’m kind of getting my groove back in terms of art by taking this detour on focusing on a new story.Apr 19, 2026#portrait
