Mind map it,
Mind maps are great to give direction to your ideas X)
Just, write little sentences about your oc in random places on a paper, or around the name of the oc, then circle the important idea ( like, the main infos), do a rectangle around the story part, and do a cloud around the little random facts
Than link things to each other, with arrow/vectors, more or less thick lines
You'll see with that a lot of things will be cleared up
