Gabbits
Gabbits are herbivorous creatures that spend most of their time in forests and under ground. They dig burrows and tunnel systems, which integrate with their village architecture, and rely on these burrows to avoid predators. If threatened, gabbits use their front paws to dig small dens, and their strong hind hooves to kick the enemy in the face. They typically walk on their back legs, but run on all fours if the situation warrants it. Throughout the year their hair changes colors to correlate with the leaves, this helps with camouflage. Through the spring and summer it stays their neutral green, but when it starts getting colder and the leaves change they can be orange or red. Yellow is also possible but it’s not as common, as most yellow gabbits in the past were eaten due to their bright complexion, and weren’t able to pass down the genes. In the winter it fades to a brown to blend in with the dead foliage around, and once the trees begin to bud they slowly fade back into their recognizable green.
Their resources include soft metals and crystals found in the area of their village, and local plants for dye and food. They are mainly an agricultural and foraging society. It is not uncommon for Gabbits outside of the village to be used as servants. Mar 31, 2025
