A pscy horror to me is a horror that warps your way of thinking and messes with your head to make a concept scary usually with suspense/the unknown or the constraints of the rules of the world presented to you. Usually something complex that breaks the human mind so people become the monsters.
Regular horror to me are monsters or scary people, viruses, gore, spooks, usually the fear of death etc etc. Stuff that is scary or gory but more of a chase than mind breaking.

Psychological horror is when a horror focuses on mental, emotional and psychological states to scare or frighten the audience, often paranoia. So in a sense its really just about toying with your mind.
A good and recent example is Hereditary but Silence of The lambs is also a great example.
Unlike most horror films, psychological horror tend to make you think even after watching or reading it.

•I always define it as suspense mostly, the constant feeling of paranoia and just fear at the back of your head. That doesn't rely on jumpscares or gore completely. Sometimes maybe more realistic scenarios?

•I agree with @beeishappy12. psychological horror (to me) is stuff that makes you question what's real and focuses more on, well, psychological horrors. I think a lot of the scary stuff takes place in the characters' (and viewers') minds. It makes you think about the scary stuff more and longer than gore and traditional horror does.

•Horror that has no jumpscares and no monster besides the mind that interacts with the world. Horror that is slow, that makes you think and have things be up to the imagination

•
•I think it comes down to horror that has tension makes you think after consuming It! Could be a well done twist, reveals, foreshadowing, fears, or themes that make you question things.
•
•I think psychological horror follows along someone who’s reality is being challenged. It’s main focus is to show the character slowly going mad. It’s a story of mental horror to unsettle the audience
