Oh, been having trouble with a new medium? I feel your pain, acrylic drove me nuts when I tried it.
What sort of programm/application did you use? Have you tried using diffrent brushes and fiddling with the transparency of those brushes? If you have a pen of sorts, some programms/apps allow you to use pen pressure.
