I would do commissions but I'm afraid I'm gonna send the piece to somebody and then they're just not gonna pay :( like ik I could do one of the things where they pay some amount upfront and the rest after I send it so I still get money, or like, cover it in a larger logo/signature until they pay the full price, but idkMay 15, 2022

I do this:
1. I send the raw sketch in the paper
2. I start working on the commission
3. I request the half of the payment. After the payment is sent, i show to the client the piece without any additional edition (the file will be in low quality)
4. If the client wants to change something, then i will add it to the final price (the other half of the payment + the price of the changes)
5. When it is completely finished, i request again to the client to send the other half of the payment (In that case, some artists request the other half of the payment to send the final piece). I simply send to the client the full piece (in low quality) and then i ask to receive the rest of the price.
6. After it i send to the client, via E-mail, all the files in it's original quality.

I don’t have commissions but maybe you can say pay first? Or just a huge watermark so they pay?

•I don't do commissions AT ALL due to prevalent scamming by non artists. Plus,online payment things like PayPal are terrible.

•When I did commissions, I had them pay half upfront before I did anything. Then I sent them the draft and asked if they wanted anything changed, but I wouldn't finish it until they pay the other half. Idk if this would help for you, but it worked for me

I thought one has to pay first, then they receive the drawing.
Or like you mentioned, you put a large signature over top and blurr the image, then they pay, and then you give them the full one.
