TOAST | 23 | SHE/HER | ARTIST&WRITERWARNING RANT: I am literally the only person in my life that knows how it feels to be stuck in the same place for too long. Last time we moved I was three so ofc I don’t remember. And YEA I know that there’s a lot of benefits to hav the stability of being in the same home all ur life. I KNO that. But the people that tell me this hav moved around a lot. I jus want the experience of living in a different home/location. I wanna be around different people and hav different surroundings. PLZ TELL ME I’m not the only one. I jus wanna kno if there r other people in the world that feel this way..May 18, 2021

Ooh I can relate, before going to college I only moved once.
I’ve had the feeling of being stuck for a long time, partly because I was bullied in school (I went to school with these people for like 15 years, even kindergarten)
And now that I move around, I actually miss that time

•I’m one of those people who did move around a lot, and yeah I probably would have had a better child/youth-hood if I hadn’t. But now as an adult I absolutely want to keep moving. And it sucks because a lot of adult life tries to tie you down, like trying to get you to buy a home and stay at the same job for 5 years to advance. I don’t exactly have it all figured out yet, but there are other options, they just take some courage. I hope you can get out of there sooner rather than later. Maybe there are some places you could go temporarily for a change of pace, like a school exchange program or staying with a faraway friend? Could be pricey though.

•Understandable, sadly a lot of places are becoming the same no matter where you live hence the 'Suburban Wasteland' and it's so expensive to move out now unless you have roomates and or lucky.
I moved junior year to a bigger house and honestly the location is worse. At least I can walk to the park, get groceries, etc without driving everywhere. If I moving, I'm moving out of the country

•Understandable. Start saving and looking for potential roomates. Another reason your folks aren't leaving is apartments are expensive as hell to the point where it's unaffordable on your own for a single bedroom and the most basic of houses are 350k rn and people are easily paying 30k or more over the asking price just to outbid.

•I know that feeling and I’ve only lived in this house for 6-7 years and actually switched schools, however I still feel stuck and everything feels stale..
