Day 2: La Llorona

Slowly continuing with uploading this year’s inktobers here!

In its’ essence, La Llorona is a Mexican folk tale about a woman who drowned her children to revenge her husband who left her for a younger one. To this day, she is said to be roaming the rivers mourning for her children. As with every folk tale, variations exist, but this immediately gave me an image to work with.
As the reference for her face and hand positions, I was heavily inspired by the statues of saints.
