Random fun question time!
What is something most people don't expect to be a hobby or love of yours that is?
For me it's my love for heavy metal music and horror art. Despite mostly posting fluffy things, I do love creepy things. Doesn't help my favorite holiday is Halloween, most would think I enjoy something like Christmas.
It always comes up with friends and ends up surprising them.

Idk honestly. Tough question.
I'm a pretty basic artsy person I guess xD
Not hobbies but:
My age is usually a surprise because I look and dress kinda younger than I really am (I'm in my 20s)
Also there were some instances that my friends assumed I was lesbian. Which, at that time I didn't really know my preferences, so when I told them that I'm straight or I didn't know yet, they were surprised xD I guess I'm givin off that kind of not straight vibe haha

People are always surprised how hard I go on Classical/Orchestral Music, I think bc I look like I listen to hard rock and alternative music (which I also do). I play the upright bass in an orchestra for 8 years (which also surprises people) and will listen to Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky, and Beethoven ect- like it's so good. I have so many records. Listening to Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov is one my favorite pass times

Definitely video games! People always assume I'm just an artist and quiet bookworm, but I love games--from sims like Stardew Valley to first person shooters.

•People who know what I look like always think my aesthetic would be soft or pastel because of my face (I have a round face with chubby cheeks) BUT it’s actually more dark academia mixed with a space/astronomy aesthetic.

I think crocheting small cute things. My personality is very much the opposite, I’m moody and an angry/intimating person, I also love cute plushies like pusheens! Also I get this reaction from everyone when they find out I like Hamilton for some reason lol, idk why that’s so surprising.

Not really a hobby but I have always been introverted and the quiet kid, but when I'm around people I trust (family, friends ...) I just start talking and talking and ranting about random stuff. So when I start feeling comfortable with new people, they get quite surprised of the fact that I have a very big sense of humor and I can make people laugh

I’m like you where people expect super cute & fluffy things because that’s what I tend to draw, but I also like Halloween & creepy stuff!
For example, my creative writing teacher (& pretty much everyone in my life) expected a super sweet short story, & the story does start out thar way... but it’s actually a gorey horror short story that ends with an innocent being brutally murdered & the killer getting away with it & the cycle beginning anew. It recontextualizes the story & makes it worth a second read!

Halloween makeup, like when it comes around the time of Halloween I usually spend my weekends doing bloody and scary themed makeup looks because I like that over traditional makeup

Idk really I like to workout a little and people don’t really expect me to be as fit or athletic as I am because I don’t play sports. And then they see me jumping crazy high or running really fast or doing more pushups or something like that and they’re like whoa, although now they’re used to it because they’ve seen it a lot

•I dress in dark clothes and have a really quiet personality so it comes off as a little edgy, but when they get to know me they learn that I like cute fluffy Sanrio things and do embroidery so I can make cute sew on patches and send people pictures of DnD dice that I think are pretty

Noone expects me to love pink, cute stuff because i represent myself in such a dark sorta creepy edgy way, also noone belives me when i tell them im actually a big Melanie Martinez fav, since i listen to heavyer music
