BUT!!!! As the very often embodiment of anxiety i become when it comes to approaching artists, if you really cant bring yourself to, i get it!!
Something i do sometimes is talk about their work in another space and not to the artist directly. It might make someone want to check them out or start a lil conversation about it if theyre also their fan :333
For example i cant coherently form my words when it comes to expressing why i think certain fanfics are written well and how much of an impact some had on my life for the better and so i know i better talk and gush about them on my silly tumblr blog rather than trauma dump under the authors comment section lol

You aren’t being annoying or weird, in fact just you telling them how much you love their art can help them in many ways: letting them know that they are on the right path, brighten up their day (especially if they have felt down), and motivates them to do even more cool art! :D
