I currently use Artfol alone. But I also saw BlueSky being a somewhat fresh replacement for Twitter, but it requires invite code for an account. I do have two tho, so if you want to check it out, you can dm me for an invite code.
And there's also InkBlot, which so far looks pretty great. It's like Artfol, made by artists for artists. You can upload images, videos, audio, text posts, and image comparisons. And even commissions. There's also a tip jar that you can link to a payment account. Tho it is a small Community like Artfol.

i post my art on tumblr and artfol, though i’m incredibly inconsistent everywhere which leads to not many people ever rlly seeing my art. maybe you’d have more luck if you’re more consistent but i’m not sure

I have heard of a new app called Pixel for artists to connect with each other and have a portfolio, and it is users-owned, no ads nor algorithm. But maybe it's not public yet. I know you have to contact the creators in order to start an account. I'd be curuous to try it, when I have more time because right now I am already struggling with Instagram and Artfol. In theory I have profiles on Reddit, Blackspot, and Comicsfury too, but I never use them because I can't manage everything on my own. Plus, I am publishing videos on Youtube

I like using cohost to post, there's a ton of cool shit you can do if you are a compsci nerd (you can use markdowns and css to make your posts pretty). But I cannot say I get any audience from it. I have zero followers from cohost itself (all four of my followers are people who made accounts to follow me but they never did log in again afterwards).
I hear good things about bluesky but i've been so disillusioned by the entire twitter model that I don't think I'll join.
Tbh artfol is the only place I'd really recommend atp. Maybe pillowfort but i have no personal experience, I just hear good stuff. Oh actually Newgrounds is also supposed to be great for small rising creators. I won't join that rn tho because I have a bunch of haters that frequent it.

I’m more interested in trying out Cohost myself, since I’ve been hearing a couple of iffy things about Bluesky (apparently, anyone can access your blocklist with some sorta 3rd party app? Definitely not good privacy wise on that regard…)
A personal recommendation of mine is Tumblr; however, we’re currently experiencing some weird times (staff’s reportedly gonna get cut in half, but staff members are saying it’s actually a good thing & they’ll roll back some of their recent bad decisions with Tumblr, so the future of Tumblr seems to be going in an interesting direction currently.) Tumblr functions similarly to Artfol, but is just bigger with more features, essentially! (More customization via custom themes for desktop blogs, more post types, tag filtering, post filtering like on Artfol for NSFW, gore, drugs, etc.)

The site is fully user funded and have no ads nor sell your information.
The community is super chill and there is no drama.
Likes come more easily than on twitter.
You can put links in your posts and bio.
You can join communities and share your relevant posts in them.
You can limit who sees your blog and/or your posts according to your prefferences: Only logged in users or only followers.
It allows NSFW and there is a toggle you can turn on your posts that mark them as NSFW and a filter feature to allow NSFW posts to appear or not in your feed.
Posts also have a toggle to disable or able comments in them.
AI generated images and content are fully banned.
NO ALGORITHM!! LIKE AT ALL!!
It has, however, a much smaller userbase. Your feed moves on a slower pace compared to twitter and insta and at some hours it completely stops. But, at least in my personal experience, my art has still scored much more likes and reblogs there than on tumblr and twitter.
