Draw yourself as a Merperson Challenge

☾I didn’t get to participate in Mermay but I want to make a challenge that I hope you will join. ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ ★ Rules: »Draw yourself as a merperson. »Add a description if you want. »Be creative. You can add as many features as you want »You don’t have to be 100% accurate to your physical appearance if you want. Go ahead and add/change features you wish you had. ☾Have fun! ★Gifts: I will draw all of my fav entries. There’s no limit. If I like your self-insert, I will draw it. ＼ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ／ Just one note, don’t force me to draw your character and that’s all.

Mermay 2021I have CONTRIBUTED!!!

Honestly, I'm the worst at any challenges, theme months, etc. I didn't think I'd do anything for this year's mermay either but then a saint threw a challenge my way! (Yes, I did this in 3 hours out of sudden inspiration, no planning at all-)

I haven't had the best luck with painting these past few months, I think my skills have just ditched me, stolen my car and sped away screaming. So, I'm REALLY happy I could do this and pretty well, too!!

So, the challenge was to draw yourself as a merperson and I don't ever EVER do self-portraits. I only ever draw the skeleton and that's that.

So! I thought "why not?" Obviously this is in no way an accurate illustration, I wish I was in good shape. I also wish that my transition process would be a bit faster than "standstill." There are a few accurate things, though! The hairstyle is pretty much that, though currently lots shorter. The piercings I made sure to get right!

I thought this would be a great opportunity to sit down and examine my self-image. How I see myself and how I want to see myself, as well as trying to portray my identity in the most positive light.

Thanks for the awesome challenge, it broke my art block a little bit! Everyone else should check it out, too!May 17, 2021

Excuse me Aaaaaaaaaaa but why so gorgeous? ＼(^ω^)／You did a fantastic painting and I am in love. Especially with that hair and gorgeous tail as well.
