QOTD:
Do you ever annotate/tab books? If so, what's your system?
I'm going to be annotating a book as a gift but I've never annotated a book before, so I'm not sure what kinda system I want to use or what I'll even write. As much as I love reading, I'll admit I'm not the deepest thinker and often don't have many specific things to say about a book besides whether or not I enjoyed it

Yea! I do it in sets: 1 color for each time I read and thats my impulse color. If I like something its that color. And then a set of 3 colors or so for any themes I notice or imoortant facts/words. I also write little notes anywhere I find something I like, and I try to put them anywhere I've highlighted - either reexplaining and condensing the highlighted portion or just making remarks. Finally I use symbols and brackets for the same things when I'm highlighting but with the notes pen to add some spice and make sure I'm not just highlighting the entire text

I donโt annotate for fun but do it for school buuut I do enjoy it. have a color coded highlight system.
I personally do one color for each of these things: a word I donโt know(write down meaning to the side), character name/place, themes, a part I liked. Highlight/underline parts you find interesting and on the side or on a sticky notes write out your thoughts. Thereโs not rlly a specific way to annotate so do it however feels right to you

Ew, absolutely not. It sucks the life out of books because you're constantly focusing on the structure than the story.
Thanks, teachers

yesss I do! I don't really have a system. I'll do: with one color, moments when I'm just being stupid (eg: when your ship finally kisses), and with other, more in depth thoughts or opinions (the intellectual stuff)
