Beach TripThe Muses and a couple of extra friends are spending the day at the beach!
Clockwise from the bottom left, we have Jackdaw bringing ice cream, Artemis playing beach ball with Jude, Bee building a sandcastle, Euan bringing snacks and sunscreen, Rook chilling in the shade, and Imani and Loren sunbathing.
This piece really got away from me, like so many drawings do - it was originally supposed to be a quick and relaxing challenge entry to procrastinate Art Fight and take my mind off the heatwave… but I ended up drawing eight characters in a scene
But I had fun with it and I love how it turned out! I’m especially happy with the very sweet and genuine smiles, as expressions are something I’ve been wanting to work on.
Fun fact: I drew the beach specifically intending it to be Portobello beach near Edinburgh, and even had a specific place in mind for Jackdaw to buy the ice cream from. Also, Jackdaw’s earring is by Austin James Smith, and Loren’s robe is by Catherine D’Lish.Aug 16, 2022
