Pro tip, if you have an option, schedule your art rather than posting it right away. (This is helpful in Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, tumblr)

When you post something right away you’ll often be waiting for responses and likes. And when they don’t come, which is often the case for folks with few followers, you’ll be 10x more disappointed than if you were to schedule your post.

By scheduling your artwork, once a day at the same time (to make your life easier), and therefore putting distance from the moment you finished the artwork to the moment you show it off, you create this barrier between what is your heart & soul on paper to what everyone else sees.

Because your work could be the most beautiful piece by miles, have a backstory that’s heart wrenching and vivid, have characters that are profound and authentic, but all of that is too much to see in one image. And no one will see it for a long time. Doesn’t mean it’s not there. Just means that people don’t know how to see it yet.

Distancing yourself from your work will help you see it as it is. It’s not your heart on paper, it’s just a little piece. The more pieces you show off, the more people will learn about you. And they’ll come out in droves. ❤️

Hope this helps someone, just thought I’d share my experience with scheduling artworks. It really changed the way I feel about making art and posting. :)

That's a really smart point and something I wish the apps I use have. But does instagram really have that feature? It would take the stress off of me posting at the same time same day of the week, which apparently the algorithm appreciates
