Storytime!
So, when I was in 3rd grade, our teacher gave us a coloring sheet of a turtle, and I decided to add shading and stuff because why not. My classmates were calling mine "cool" and "realistic" and that really motivated me. A few days later, we were given a coloring sheet of a campsite. Still being motivated by my peers compliments, I decided to color mine all black since the outside was mostly all black at night according to kid me. I showed my coloring sheet to my teacher and she told me "If I could give this a grade, you know what it would be? An F."
What my teacher said crushed me and killed all motivation for me to draw for MONTHS. I'm not joking, it took me years to get back into art as hobby because of what she said to me.
I mean, my finished result was lazy, yeah. But you didn't have to use insults to describe it!
I was like 8.
