My 4 year old nephew keeps calling me and my man "friends" to each other like a lil homophobe (/j) and doesn't understand why I calmly correct him saying that no, we're together, we're a family and we love each other like mom/dad does or grandma/grandpa does, and they're not called friends either. In another life we might be friends but we're not, we're this thing: 
Lil nephew also thinks if I'm his uncle I must be everyone elses uncle, too, so when I leave the room he looks at my boyfriend and asks "Where's your uncle?"
