Advice on Body Shapes?
I’m trying to create a default style for myself (as I wish to draw in many styles), and I really want to get a style that’s slightly toony-leaning, with more emphasis on shapes and such. I can draw realistic human bodily proportions on humans, and kinda figured out how to stylize animals, but I’m struggling a lot with the human form (which is a problem bc I want to draw more humanoids.
Help???Apr 14, 2021

Hi! Body shapes are so hard to get down sometimes- I’m struggling myself, because it’s hard to stray from normal proportions! However, whenever I want to practice, I’ll draw a dramatic shape and round it out then give it legs— to put it simply. I think if you also study Disney characters, you can see how the artists alter the body shapes to convey a personality!
