@bluazurite's post on Artfol
I might wait until the whole Cara hype dies down until I'll even consider trying it out. I don't know why, but it's so stressful for me to see so many people flee from one place to another in such a short time. I hope the site won't collapse because of that
But at the same time, starting from scratch again is too much for me, and I don't think I would even fit in. There's so much great art there it would make me feel bad just to be there.
I think Artfol will always stay as my safe place. I've never felt more comfortable anywhere elseJun 5, 2024

Im enjoying Cara a little bit but Artful is definitely the safe space, I love it on here and nothing will ever replace it <3

I think Artfol will always remain a safe space for everyone with an account on here. I’ve seen people post that they’re back from other social medias and it seems to always be active. Cara is hyped up for a reason, and that reason is that there is finally another app like Artfol. Not the same but similar. It will continue to get popular, maybe more than Artfol, but Artfol will always be a safe space for artist. There’s some very talented artists on Cara and I think you are definitely as talented as them. <3

Agee with this 100%
I don’t really have plans to try Cara in general, even when the hype does calm down. I considered it for a bit, but realized that it just wouldn’t work out. For one, I was definitely never good at managing my social media pages (and I end up ghosting each of them for a long time
) due to my mental health, so picking up another social media page is just a recipe for disaster for me. Secondly, I feel a similar way as you - I don’t think I’d fit in particularly well, either. So many great artists are there that I feel like I’d just be taking up space if I went to Cara along with everyone else.
Artfol probably isn’t the best choice out there, but it’s solid and, for me, it has something that some social medias lack: peace. It’s a quiet little place and it doesn’t feel like there’s a huge amount of people here, so it’s less overwhelming to handle for someone like me. Being here feels cozy and tranquil, like you’re at a small get-together in a cottage instead of a huge party in the biggest mansion the world can offer, if that makes sense. And that feels nice.

i just hope artists are migrating for real this time and i did not just create an account there to follow everyone for them to post three pictures and go back to instagram
because i haven't used insta for three years i think and all of my favourite artists were there

Artfol safe place cause you can always hit the What's Hot tab relatively easily.
You do have to pick your battles though and the amount of eyes you get in your work and the amount of interaction with various people (not the same ones like here) is very much worth it imo when you're able to handle that.
Along with the fact there's a lot of bugs here and I can't even go back and edit the words on this comment while still typing it

•I totally agree
I feel overwhelmed by all the sudden movement and it being the only thing people talk about. I don't have energy to start all over again on another place (for now). I hope people find a nice place in there, tho! But I won't be joining for now. It's too much.

I won’t try out Cara. I hear its similar to Artstation. And when I had an account on Artstation, it made me feel uncomfortable due to its professionalism.
Regardless, I anyways don’t want to have another social media to manage. Don’t got time for that sort of thing anymore
