I think this discourages a lot of artists how don’t know how to draw dark skin or curly hair . Also people don’t really thing about lighting and stuff when bashing artists , I really wish people would be more supportive and give kind critiques instead of just bashing artists . Of course, this doesn’t apply to people who are purposely going out of their way to draw poc characters white for the sake of racism or fixing characters

I feel like this happens with any black prominent/popular character the art community gets a hold of. Honestly I think most of the critiques are valid like people who don’t even attempt to draw Amanda’s hair curly or just completely change her skin tone but its definitely frustrating when people point out the smallest mistake or if the hair isn’t tight enough or if they are a non artist and don’t know a thing about color theory or lighting.
