Dabi
When Hawks joined the LOV to spy on them, he saw the skull and fire shaped earrings on a jewelry store one day and decided to buy those for Dabi.1- because they reminded him of the boy,
2- because it would help him earn his trust and
3- because he's a teaser by nature as we know, and buying the earrings would make him get some sort of reaction from Dabi. So he gave them to Dabi as a present and he obviously isn't impressed and just dismissed the earrings. Later on, Hawks spotted the other wearing them and smiled because it Low-key warmed his heart that Dabi actually wore the earrings, and also because they looked good as fuck on him. He and Hawks started developing a closer friendship (Hawks With second intentions, of course) and Dabi started trusting him a lot, venting to him about his deepest traumas and everything he's never told anyone before.
Sometime later Hawks ended up betraying the LOV as we know and Dabi is just so mad and hurt that he decided to run away for a while, he just needed to be alone with his thoughts for a little bit. He's unaware that he's still wearing the jewelry that Hawks had gifted him a few time after they met. He's also unaware that the jewelry glows and it always shows the person's emotions, kinda like those mood rings.
Dabi isn't a very emotional person so the earrings never glowed until now. He also can't cry because he burned his tear ducts so it's hard to see what he's feeling right now. Unaware of it, the earrings slowly started glowing blue. The color of sadness.Jul 4, 2021
