My inexperience is showing. Has anyone negotiated a commercial deal with a small business? They want five designs for tshirts paid upfront, no royalties. I just wanted to build my following so I didn’t think any of this out beforehand. Help!May 2, 2022

Royalties aren't the only payment, and if you're a small artist connecting to a small business there's a chance royalties won't do sh*t for you and only add to everyones administrative burden.
If you don't get royalties, cut the use of your artwork in other places. Like, only allow a small run per design, only a set amount of reprints (with the option of more for payment ofc), and a set time they are allowed to use your designs overall.
