Another story bc this one is more recent and I think it's very funny too lmao
My sister is really into homebrew games, so she did one based on my superhero world (that she helped me create) and most mechanics are based on the call of Chtulu
So. My sister is DM, my brother, our friend we always play with, two of my friends that have very little experience with TTRPGS and me are the players, all of our characters are teens except my brother and one of my friend's. We were coming back on a bus from a summer camp when we discovered that a new super villain had appear and turned four of the strongest superheroes of the cities into stone, and had some weird almost fascist discourse about how "people with superpowers are oppresing people without them". My character has bad luck powers, and a bunch of coincidences caused a bus accident (but no one got hurt!) So we were in the middle of nowhere when my mom appeared and said we were fleeing Madrid, and I asked her to take my friends with us. She agreed for the adult, but said she needed permision for the other two. One of them (the pj is named Aylen) is always ignored by her parents, so she just pretended she called them. My other friend (pj named Uri) has an overprotective, superhero dad (imagine Endevour without the moustache and better father lol) that told him to NOT get into that car and fin away by foot instead. He said he got permission so we all got on the car and got away
My friend did NOT have permision, his dad got into his head that we had kidnapped him and started chasing us
It was a car chase against a fucking superhero with superstrenght and fire powers. Somehow, my mom managed to RUN HIM OVER and he was still chasing us (my friend screamed a lot, poor guy). Uri also has fire powers, got on fire bc of the stress. My mom got out a fire extinguisher, I tried to give the superhero bad luck and failed, so the extinguisher exploded inside the car and we couldn't see shit
finally my friend decided to make a sign to his dad to PLEASE STOP THROWING FIRE AT US, and luckily he got it and stopped
my mom stopped the completely destroyed car too, and this guy. Jumped on the bonnet of the car and the glass exploded bc of the heat. So my mom got the mighty chancla and got the equivalent of a nat20, so she literally knocked him down akdhfkfkg then she just got out of the car, stole another one and told all of us except Uri to go. It was the best beggining of a campaign ever

•OH DO I HAVE AN EPIC AND FUNNY STORY–
So. This is during the quarantine. Usually my sister DMs, but she uses a lot of maps and puzzles so it was very hard to play with our friend via videocall, so at some point we switched DMs and now our friend was DMing and my two siblings and I are the players. We were playing DnD but in a fantasy world made by our friend (aka using DnD manuals but on another world) and BOY ARE MY SIBLINGS THE WORST COUPLE OF PLAYERS. They constantly fight each other
idk if we're the worst or best party for a first time DM lmao
Anyways. We were in a forest and a bunch of deer-centaurs asked us to get rid of some creatures (I don't remember what they were, gnomes maybe?) that had invaded their forest, with one condition: we could NOT damage the forest. So any plan involving fire was inmediatly out of the picture. I got a huge crush on the leader of the deer-centaurs, so I wanted to impress her with some cool plan. Sadly, the plan was horrible. We all knew it was horrible, but we didn't have any other ideas.
So– we went to the place. There was a space without trees inside the forest, and in the middle there was like a big tree with all the houses or whatever. One of us failed the stealth check and we got caught before we could do anything
and my brother got THE WORST IDEA EVER– he tried to convince the gnomes that they were drugged and we were the ghosts of drugs. The best part? IT WORK. A lot of those little guys thought we were the spirits of drugs
so we just kept playing along. I don't remember everything, but we started scaring them. My brother was a tiefling and I was a half-(dark) elf, so we both started reciting in dark language. My sister also started screaming in some weird language. We scared the shit out of those guys akdhfkgk only their leader didn't believe us, so I used the spell
ghost hand
or something like that and killed the guy. We put on such a show that the gnomes than away in horror. And all this time, my crush and the rest of the centaurs were looking at us like

•OKAY... THIS MIGHT BE LONG
From a campaign I played in- funniest experience ever was when my character and another person's character was off in an expedition to solve a mystery in a jeweller's shop and we decided to split because one had to tend to the wounds of someone who's injured and the other felt bored and decided to investigate- My character was the one who decided to investigate and got attacked by someone and we had this entire fight outside the shop and my friend (WHO I KNOW IS METAGAMING HERE But none of us really cared since it's just session 1 and the DM is a new DM (has played before) and the player was just a new player in general) and their character went outside to pee... While peeing, they spotted my character literally about to die and didn't specify that they zipped up their pants and the player agreed he didn't zip his pants probably and we just strayed from the plot completely set by the DM to deal with the issues of showing ur thing in public... was a very fun and weird session XD (other stories in the replies)

•First ongoing adventure in wich our party (elven healer, elven assassin with a broadsword, elven drag queen, human bard, halfling thief and my dwarven merchant) was sent out to recover a lost relic that was stolen from an abbey.
So there we were, in front of the boss room, the massive bronze double doors looming over us.
All fail their investigation checks. We pull on the handle and
almost get squashed as the whole solid door shaped chunk of bronze tilts towards us.
Crashing down just barely missing my dwarves butt >u<"
Third time I almost died in that adventure~

“The Horse Incident”
It was the first of a series of incidents with my character Darragh (dar-uh)! He’s a 6’5 ft tall, homebrew creature I made called a Dullatroll! Our little trio entered the city where the campaign’s setting is. He had his magical monster draft horse with him & can summon & de-summon her at any time. He realized she could be a danger to the citizens, so he de-summoned her to be considerate. It got the attention of the guards & people around him, so the guards surrounded him with swords at his neck & a large crowd gathered around to see what was going on. The guards (kinda scared of him) asked, “What did you do to that horse?”
And Darragh (I) said the first thing that came to mind, which was, “I ate it?!?!” I rolled an intimidation check, NAT 20. The guards immediately fled, & the crowd of people started running away too. The street was in chaos, people were running inside, slamming doors shut, closing blinds, everything to get away from Darragh; all while he just stood there & watched the mass panic he just created on accident. Our party’s bard, a yellow Tiefling girl, ran over to Darragh, grabbed his hand, & the two started running in the same direction as the crowd so they wouldn’t get arrested. He had cleared the street COMPLETELY, & it was as congested as Disney World crowds!
Now, he ended up convincing the entire island through that one incident that he’s a dangerous cryptid called, “The Horse Eater.” There’s a 1,000 gold bounty on him currently.
That incident was one of 3 that happened that day, & the first of 5 that Darragh’s had in our campaign so far! Nearly every incident escalated more than the previous one too!

One of the players managed to befriend a group of skeletons and taught them how to play cards.. it didn't take long for them to start betting their arm and leg bones in poker

There were many funny small things such as
- the party arriving at a town where everyone is frozen in time and one player tattooed dicks on random people
- we were being robbed in a dark alley, two of us fought back, the third seduced the robber and robbed him instead
- after dressing up for a ball and sneaking off to rescue a small dragon that was abducted and taken to that castle, we had to flee before anyone noticed and one player went full Karen Mode and demanded a carriage we never paid for
- any time my wolf was supposed to do something. I always roll the worst things for him. I tell him to attack someone, he runs away and leaves us :')
- one time a player prayed to some Gods to help us, then the next player prayed too and then again and again the gods (aka dm) were so fed up that they kept giving us weird features like glosing eyes, green spots on our bodies, "hey mighty God can you get rid of my green spots?" they get yellow spots instead so that in the end we looked super weird

At the very beginning of our current campaign we’d just got to the forest and came across a river, we ended up fishing but we all did it in various ways. Some actually fished, some threw rocks, some tried pointy sticks, I just tried to reach in and grab them, as a paladin, fish were too fast for me

First D&D 5e campaign ever, I was playing a custom sorcerer called Bow Mage (because Arcane Archer fighter was not what I thought it was).
We’ve come to the finale, and one of the last bosses is a Balor. I dunno if anyone else knows this, but these guys explode for MASSIVE damage when they die. Our characters did not know this, and we all failed our knowledge checks. So we were royally screwed when we saw this thing.
Fight goes on for a very long time, and this thing is just not backing down. So I decide to hit it with a Banish to give us a little bit of breathing room to recuperate.
I roll for the hit. Crit. With my custom subclass, I can crit on spells (OP I know, but everyone at the table was cool with it.) Hit the balor with the banish, with enough damage to kill it, and it disappears just before it explodes. It was one of my proudest moments as a player.
Bonus story for reading this far: first campaign I ever DMed, my party was trying to break into a mage’s mansion. One of them tries to just glide over the gate (he had a special cloak for it), but I splatted him into a magic barrier. It was very funny
