I can’t really remember their fight or how Richi met Ash, besides charizard refusing to fight and Ash loosing because of that. I never really liked that as I child I think, but it showed perfectly that Ash still has a long way to go and now his biggest strengh became what once was his weakness: His bond and willingness to adapt and learn with his pokémon
