Any tips on drawing fanart? I’m kinda scared of drawing characters “wrong”

I always look up the official designs
That’s what I did with my Genshin Impact drawings

A lot of people seem to like it (including myself) when others put their own respectful takes on a character & their design! Even seeing a character in someone else’s art style is pretty fun! The right way ti make fanart is to have fun & don’t disrespect a character’s design!
Disrespecting a character’s design meaning changing their race (especially whitewashing) or making a disabled character no longer disabled & that type of stuff. You wouldn’t want people to do that kind of thing to your characters, you know?

there's no "wrong" way to draw a character: that's what makes looking at fanart so fun, so many different ways to draw the same character is so cool! but it's super helpful to have a character's official art nearby so you can get a general idea of what they look like and have fun with it

•Have fun! I don't think any one here cares if you mess up. But seeing your art I think you'll do great!

•Use references!!! When I draw fanart I always have the characters reference sheet up along with a reference of the pose I’m doing, helps a lot with understanding dynamics

•Just keep trying, even though some of it were abit wrong or incorrect, you'll get used to it. So just keep drawing the character more often
