24ok now im a little curious
whats one of the most unfortunate minecraft experiences you’ve had if you play or have played minecraft?
ill go first (
warning: long)
ive never beat minecraft until a few months ago when i was playing with friends but i havent played in years LOL
we made it to The End and had to fight the dragon and the moment we enter the fight my friend asks my two other friends and i “do you guys know what to do?” and all 3 of us simultaneously say “No (:” and shes like “WHAT???”
she looks at one of the towers and is like “u see this tower? we have to destroy these with arrows” and she shoots at something above the tower but the top is really foggy so i couldnt see anything except an explosion and i was like “oh i guess you really do have to shoot randomly at the tower (not correct)”
so they all run off and i run to a tower and shoot at it and watch three of my arrows jut out from the side of the tower and think “hmm. this doesnt seem right.” but my friends are basically destroying all the towers so im like okay i guess ill just try to fight the dragon
except in the process of trying to shoot it i look at like 4 endermen by accident and now im being chased, beat, and blasted at by the dragon
IT GETS WORSE: u probably have heard of this thing where ur not allowed to use beds in The End bc ur not allowed to sleep, which means if you click the bed to use it, it explodes in ur face
when my friend explained it to me, she explained it as if it exploded/detonated like a grenade the SECOND u place down a bed… SO I THOUGHT IT WOULD EXPLODE WHEN U PLACE IT DOWN (but ur suppose to place it down, then make a tiny barricade so u dont go flying or have a bucket of water to save ur fall if the explosion sends u flying, THEN click the bed so it explodes and u dont get hurt)
THIS LEADS TO ME PLACING DOWN A BED WHEN THE DRAGON LANDS AND THEN TURNING AROUND AND RUNNING BEFORE IT EXPLODES
I TURNED AROUND AND SAW THE BED EXPLODE but not because it automatically exploded, its because my friend was there to detonate it for me
bUT I DIDNT KNOW SHE DID SO I WAS CONVINCED IT WORKED AND I JUST KEPT DOING IT
And there was no time for me to ask if i was doing the explosions correctly because we’re all dying, being chased, explosions are happening, we’re losing our weapons, we keep respawning after we die, the dragon is almost dead, ENDERMEN EVERYWHERE
eventually we win after like 5 deaths in a row and we get off, and an hour later im thinking about that battle and i call my friend and ask her “hey. what the hell were we suppose to do during that fight”
and she explains everything to me and im like “wait….i couldnt see very well during that entire fight,,,how could you see the tower….”
then i opened my minecraft video graphic settings and it said my rendering distance was 5 chunks… WHICH IS BELOW THE DEFAULT (12 cHUNKS)… WHICH MEANS I WAS REALLY BLIND FOR A MAJORITY OF US PLAYING
for the entire game i:
- couldnt see past a good distance so i never knew what my friends were seeing when they were like “oh shoot theres a ghast over there! Oh snap the blue biome is over there! Oh snap i see one of the towers of the nether fortress” its always me following up with “where? WHERE? WHERE”
- wasnt detonating any beds to contribute damage to the dragon
-didnt destroy any towers
and it was by far the funniest thing ive ever explained to my friends after i realized (with my friend’s help) what was going wrong
(we played another world in minecraft and i got my redemption arc and blew up a bunch of the crystals on the towers and actually clicked the beds and didnt get chased by endermen
)
bonus comments my friends made:
“you know how your (my) minecraft skin is a bear farmer? when you placed down a bed and ran, from my screen, you just see an oversized bear turning and booking it

Well, here is why I stopped playing it:
I started a game and after a while, I found a village, I decided to settle in that place, so I started to build a wall around it so mobs won't enter, it was going alright, I even did a filter room if one got in with me at the door.
Eventually, a Zombie got in the room, and in the struggle, I accidentally let it in, and it Zombified some Villagers FAST.
I was devastated, one of the Villager zombies got stuck in a well, and left it there if I found a way to cure them.
And then, I left the game to never return

i got a minecraft dog once and decided to get another one. so my dog and i would go traveling to find some skeletons to get bones. i was unsuccessful until one night when a lot of mobs spawned. while looking for a skeleton, i saw this in chat: dog was shot by skeleton. after that i promised myself to never spare any skeletons. i also named my weapon "SKELETON SLAYER" or something i dont remember exactly

•My friend and I decided to go exploring on our server and went so far away from our home. We found a huge ass cave with a ravine and the new plant shit inside, but my friend fell down and died. I went down with a water bucket to collect her stuff, but down there were a bunch of monsters that killed me. So we both lost all the things we found there and on our journey :')
Another tragic thing that happened, I was in a new world by myself, got a dog and got invisibility potions and made both of us invisible, after a while I notice I lost my dog

•My sibling and I have only played free rip-off versions of minecraft but one time we spawned so many chickens into the world that the whole thing just crashed and wouldn't open again

•Also, I was with my siblings in the end and we were looting ships and fortresses and and we had to use and ender Pearl and elytra to get to the next island and I used elytra and the ender pearl went to low and I literally got teleported into the void

•So I was playing on ps3 I had just found like 8 diamonds and then I mined something and a bunch of gravel fell on me and I mined out of it and right into lava and I accidentally pressed the crouch button and I was panicking and I didn’t know what to do and I died

•I think many years ago i was mining and i had really good stuff but accidentally broke a cobble stone to a lava and fell down~ mm another one
I had a pet parrot in my friends realm it was cute~ however i made a mistake of putting the fireplace near my parrot so when i made my parrot not sit. It flew into the fire.. LOL

•My favorite horse fell down a ravine due to terrible lag and died. I was so pissed and so sad that I made a grave for them once I got home. The whole time I was like "Why would you do this to me!!????"

•not exactly unfortunate but definitely extremely overwhelming for me as a first time player:
i spawned in the middle of a jungle + mesa biome
and not only that, i spawned IN a tree so i was extremely confused and disoriented when all i saw was speckled green

Once I played survive mode for the first time since years.
And I accidentally looked at an enderman. Waiting for my death, I watched from where it could attack. But nothing came, so I just calm down. And then IT APPEARS RIGHT BESIDES ME.
I threw my switch...
