GriffinIn the H.G. Wells book Griffin (no doctorate) is described as an albino with a pink and white face and eyes the color of garnets. Tried to design a book-accurate Griffin that still incorporated elements of the 1933 version since I love Claude Rains's performance.
I imagine him as pretty bundled up even before the invisibility thing since as someone in Victorian England with albinism he'd probably get stared at a lot, which could tie into why he seems so paranoid and angry about nosy people staring at him. Considering at the time the book takes place albino people were often in Barnum & Bailey shows, I wonder how awkward it would be to be a teaching assistant at a college with that condition. The book doesn't go into it much.
Yeah there's no monocane in the book but it never says what color the drugs are so shrugMar 16, 2026
