Outfit August 2: First Movement Arc (Hideki) 2

Hideki’s original medic division outfit has way more white in it; seems very white mage-y XD. Also in the previous picture, he’s holding a ration bar; because of the sometimes lack of food when he was an orphan, Hideki has a sometimes unfathomable appetite.

I included his firearm and default sword, a “pistol” and tsurugi that were gifted to him by Djura on his first mission with the Ophiuchus band. This sword eventually becomes his primary sword when he ascends to godhood, and is based on the theorized type of sword that the Kusanagi no Tsurugi (if you check the wikipedia page, you can see my inspiration) might have been. It differs from Djura’s katana, which would have a more “modern” look comparatively.

Hideki, while in the medic unit, was bullied relentlessly by the other medics, with the most severe and cold treatment coming from the head doctor. Hideki was in a mission where his mentor, the doctor’s wife, unfortunately passed away while he tried to keep her alive. The doctor never forgave him, which becomes the biggest sticking point to Djura when he finally requisitions Hideki from the main med unit. Their reconciliation comes much later; seeking forgiveness, the doctor asks him, yet Hideki never blamed the doctor and so assured him that he has no ill will, and that “he’ll promise to be very happy!” in his new crew.

No one seemed to have told the poor medic that the phrase was meant more for young women leaving home to marry their spouse, rather than a generic goodbye from leaving in general.
