My main character {Robin} was casted out of his tribe when he was only five years old why? He’s the son of a Vampire and a Werewolf and thus looked down upon by the members of his tribe for not being full blood vampire. His mother hated his gut and that caused Robin to have a strong rage towards people at times but it also makes him protective of the people he cares about. He’s also a little slow due to him being cast out at such young age!

Oh Ho Ho definitely. I think a good majority of my OCs do. In ERA, Bud is very cautious and overprotective and doesn’t trust anybody from outside their group because in their world, Mutated Children are a threat and they have been chased, trapped, and about to be killed by not only a soldier who he somewhat was able to trust, but by their own mother. Bud also has the need to self sacrifice and do everything they can to protect the younger kids because they blame themselves for their sister’s death. A lot of the other kids in my story also have experiences from their short childhood that make them who they are now.

The chilhood always affect the oc
Like, for the stories of Ethlynn and Sanaë, for exemple. They grew mainly alone, orphan for Ethlynn and with a sibling for only friend for Sanaë, plus they had fighting activities early on, like witchcraft or dreamwalking, with make that know they are quite lonely and closed on themselves, tho not on the same levels ( Sanaë is more friendly and open)
Childhood always have effects

For some of them but it depends.. if they lived through trauma then yes. One of my OCs in a written story has a lot of trust-issues, anxiety etc. because his adoptive parents didn’t treat him well. He would probably naturally be a bit reserved anyway, but his childhood made him even more so

Kyoko’s parents essentially kicked her out as a small child and she ended up raising herself, as a result she is practically feral in the comic.
I have a bit of a headcannon about anthropomorphic animals: if they are not raised to act a certain way they will go back to their base instincts. Anything “civilized” Kyoko does she learned through imitation.

Since i finally have two ocs with actual backstories
Zee-an alien and was always told to grow up when she was younger
Almost everyone in her family has anger issues because of their childhoods too
She never wanted to disappoint them mostly because of fear
Since she didnt like that she always goes on the internet to know about what type of person THEY like
She wanted to know so she could run away from her family
It has more deeper reasons but im too tired rn to type them all she gets character development too but her life is a mess rn since she's still starting to change into an ideal person
My second oc
Julie-a human,zee's bestfriend
She was very creative when she was younger
Her life was pretty peaceful except she has a little sister that she's annoyed of
She was spoiled as a kid that made her a bit of a brat but that doesnt mean she looks down at people
She's just too spoiled that she thinks she can get whatever she wants
She's also currently getting character development because of Zee
She was very social when she was younger but some of the kids hated her because she thinks she can get whatever she wants without earning it
Its also supposed to have a deeper meaning and proper context but im tired so yes

For my main three kiddos in my pokemages series, oh hell yeah:
Heather and Gabe both didn't have a dad grow up, but hung out with their grandad. Gabe was closer to him and discovered his passion and what he wanted to do in life from him.
Heather spent more time with her mom, and her dreams shaped up similarity around her mom's. Her mother's a hairdresser, Heather grows up to be a makeup artist.
Their house was often filled with guests so theyre both rather outspoken, goofy n loud. But, they each have different ways of grieving. When they're father figure died (their grandad) heather seeked out parties, and Gabe just pretended he was never gone in the first place.
Ricky, on the other hand, their eventual adopted sibling, was raised by two parents who always sought to fix him. He was kept inside most of his life, so he tends to be quiet, salty kinda guy. He doesn't tend to speak his mind, nor like excersizing since hes always just rather stayed inside. How he copes with stresses is just retrieving back into his room and appealing to his sweet tooth.
This even shows in their clothing! Ricky tends to hide himself in hoodies beanies and sweats while Heather on the other hand wears crop tops, platforms, and sharp colors.

maybe... their backstory is more centralized in how they 3 are a biological puzzle, but i can say:
Jesslia's toxic optimism is a remanent of how disapointed were her parents over her
Elan's single expresion is a result of her ex bf being an idiot
Triumph's shy behavior is not like "that total shyness" but it comes after being the boxing dummy of many peeps

:D I'd like to think every character starts from somewhere! Due to some past experiences with other father figures, my main OC feels quite uneasy at the thought of them. Eventually the stigma breaks when happens to form a good friendship with his own. :'( I guess it still kinda irks him a bit.

Yep
Definitely
For all of them
They been thru shit
Rudy and julian share the same childhood
But for rudy it made him more like "i need to make sure im good on my own, got all the stuff i would want to have, see i /can/ do well on my own
i dont need any1 to tell me who i am or what i can and cant do" and so he likes to have luxurious things and is authentically himself
Whereas with julian it made him more quiet and broody and actually more emotional on the inside than he'd like to admit, but he suppresses his emotions until he gets into a more healthy relationship, then he shows it more but still is hesitant, it also caused him to have a thing for freedom and generally have a "u do u" thought for others
Peter i recently found out that he couldve had a childhood that he spent more of the time alone, like almost literally (julian was similar, he isolated himself quite a bit, but something about with peter just feels even moreso) and also had others spit harsh remarks at him while he just silently took it, so now hes blunt and calculative and his words make him seem like an asshole (which adds to the being misunderstood part of his life) but he doesnt mean any harm by them (by his experience, he doesnt have intentions of actually causing hurt), hes just blunt and also playful with others with his teasing and sarcastic
Still figuring out some others but im having some senses of their childhoods already, i just dont have it visible enough for vivid detail
