i just need to express how dear the 1999 anime version of hxh is to me
i love going back to it and feeling the rush of that particular eerie/nostalgic feeling i get from it TuT
to me that’s what hxh feels like
probably because that’s the only version i knew but still i love it so much it has a certain charm to it
i wish the dark continent arc was done back then it’s such a shame the 1999 vibes are perfect for it
the suffocating atmosphere and visual representation of negative emotions in early animated series had such a particular effect, the exact same thing i feel while watching hxh i felt it when i watched nge, and literally every single nippon studio’s anime
they were and still are so painfully immersive…child me definitely shouldn’t have had access to these shows :’))) but i still love them regardless
anyway old animations are masterpiece (minus some…a lot of disturbing and unnecessary things that should’ve never been made)
