The Ringmaster
If you’re bored, read her story ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)She is always wrapped in mystery. No one knows where this fox came from — only that she controls the most popular circus of all. On the surface, she is the successful ringmaster of a thriving circus, earning staggering profits. But in the unseen corners of the world, she excels at darker dealings: murders and crimes without a blink, never leaving a trace behind, and perhaps she can even summon demons for you. People think she is the embodiment of entertainment itself.
As the circus grew famous, trouble followed. One night, three young fox cubs were abandoned at the gates of the circus. She took them in, though no one knows what motives she truly carried in her heart.
Though she lies freely to the outside world — talking nonsense, selling counterfeits, saying anything it takes — she always manages to walk away unscathed. Yet she has never once lied to the three fox cubs. The day she adopted them became their birthday. Every birthday gift she ever promised them has never been missed.
Her sharp instincts seize every opportunity with precision, and her calculating mind knows exactly when to make a move. She believes she can succeed at anything, and she works relentlessly to prove it, to the point where she is so exhausted she can fall asleep standing. She has humiliated countless people who once looked down on her by action. Some of those same people now kneel before her, noses running, faces miserable, begging her to help them get things done. There is nothing in this world she cannot handle.
When the ringmaster was young, her family was poor. She was forced to give up her only chance at education so her older brother could study instead. Ironically, even after finishing school, he amounted to very little, failing at everything he tried and earning no real money. The ringmaster, however, was clever from a young age. She would sneak up to the windows of her brother’s school to peek at the writing on the blackboard and secretly listen to the teacher, only to be chased away again and again by the school guards — until one day the wall was rebuilt much higher, and she was finally stopped.
While her peers were busy making friends, she was already earning money through reselling goods. She watched others her age and thought of herself as the future winner, yet at the same time felt a deep sadness for her own situation. Every morning she woke up telling herself to grow up faster, to earn money as soon as possible, to buy all the things her younger self never had the chance to own. Inside her lived a wild beast, growing frantically.
She is sensitive to criticism and deeply afraid of failure, because she has no one she can truly trust or rely on. One wrong step could mean everything falling apart. The only person she trusts is herself. And it is this ambition and strength that carried her to a place she would never have dared to dream of as a child.
She treats the three little ones as her own. She never spares expense when it comes to what they eat or use. In them, she sees her younger self — and she is caring for the version of herself her parents once failed to protect. As if compensating for her past, she buys them everything: imported toys, silk pajamas. She keeps every promise she makes to them.
She hopes to find, among the three, a successor — a fox as ambitious, cunning, and intelligent as herself. Or perhaps the three of them will rule this circus queendom together. And so, often without realizing it, she guides them toward the path of a merchant, sometimes even becoming obsessive.
In her office stands a bookshelf filled with picture books. Whenever she has time, she reads to the three before bedtime — though she often slips in her own twists, turning the protagonists into traders or fabulously wealthy figures, long before the cubs even understand what money is.
She knows this world is dangerous. And so, outside of the circus, no one knows that she has three weaknesses — these soft and irreplaceable cubs.Dec 21, 2025
