Part 2: more spooky stuff
Half of these weren't even Halloween related but were included in this collection anyway. Oh well.
Monsters vs. Aliens: Night of the Living Carrots
The cliffhanger from Attack of the Mutant Pumpkins continues...and there weren't as much stakes this time around besides zombification of a few characters. All of the trick or treaters are sleeping past their bedtime after all. Gotta love the classic Alex the Lion plush making a cameo here.
Monsters vs. Aliens: B.O.B's Big Break
The lore expands in a pre-Susan saga, with B.O.B being as annoying as he was in the special that was just previously mentioned, even with cool powers injected in him briefly. The Invisible Man is the best character by far, why couldn't he have been in the actual movie?
MegaMind: The Button of Doom
This is the closest to a MegaMind sequel we'll get, and just like the previous special, this ain't Halloween related and there are no real stakes besides MegaMind being under threat by an AI mech version of his old self as a result of pushing the titular button. This has a good message too: don't sell stuff that still turns out to still be worthwhile, especially if the buyer will go on to form Metrocity's very own Kids Next Door.
Shrek: The Pig Who Cried Wolf-oh wait, Werewolf
At last, another spooky special. And we get some unexpected lore on the Big Bad Wolf too, one that these little piggies never saw coming. Didn't know that everyone's favorite wolf was really a hardcore version of Julia Child.
"The Three Little Piggies' fate remains unknown."
Minor miscellaneous notes:
-David Kaye was Link in Night of the Living Carrots? Guess ol Will Arnett wasn't available for that one, although Will was available for B.O.B's Big Break.
-I actually have Button of Doom on DVD, but twas more convenient to watch it from this Netflix collection rather than busting out the ol disc collection, especially when it's the third episode in this thing.
