They are trying to sell the key, so you can open the lock that they have created.

They are trying to "softly encourage" you to open your wallet, and buy promos. It's not a place for humans anymore, it's best to just leave.
If I were you, I'll quit IG for a while. IG is a very draining and fake social media. I'll try reels if you can do videos, because algorithm works in another level than single images. In fact, this Monday I posted a reel and it was a viral video (I had
When posting, I use a mix of big and small tags, since the small tags are a good way to find like-minded people. You can also check your stats if you have a business/creator account to see what days/times your audience is online. I also share my posts to my story the day after I post them to catch more people’s attention. Commenting on people’s work, especially smaller accounts, is also a way of gaining followers.

In the end, though, if the numbers are making you feel bad, consider abandoning IG. It’s not worth the energy, unless it’s getting you freelance jobs or some other income.

I have 220 followers now, so I checked my engagement on posts from when I had ~100 followers and there was no difference whatsoever. It’s pretty much the same group of 20-30 people interacting with my posts.

I keep my IG for those 30 people, and as a gallery that’s easier for people I meet at artist alleys to access. When I think of it that way, I don’t feel bad about my numbers. But if the numbers are hurting you, just ditch the account. Your worth should never be tied to engagement metrics ❤️

Sorry for the long comment haha but I hope it helped!
Quit Instagram, it’s not worth it
Besides giving that gross corporation money on stupid & needless ads, no.
I'm pretty sure there's no solution besides maybe getting REALLY lucky- just ditch Insta, I'm pretty sure that's the best for the mental health of artists :'O
I’ve given up on instagram and have been chilling here instead, sorry I have no advice
