Could someone explain to me how the rising and what’s hot pages work? Is it based of likes? Interaction with comments? I’m a little confused

I’m pretty sure it’s just the amount of likes they get within a certain window of time, maybe on a day by day basis? But they also do like an ‘everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame’ kinda dealie, where they’ll boost any newly posted piece for a few minutes

It’s not based entirely on likes/interaction although some of them definitely are. I think the algorithm randomly selects posts and puts them on rising and what’s hot.
Yesterday right after I posted I found my art of the what’s hot page and that’s before it got a single like.
I think the algorithm is supposed to make new art and smaller artists more easily seen. Idk how it works exactly either tho.
