Dragon Incense

For college, I had to research a historic artist and create a piece that mimicked their style. I decided to do my piece on Steve Murphy (you can find him on Boston Potter- he has some really cool stuff).

His style has very big proportions- big head, big body, big eyes, etc. In fact, part of his style is influenced by Where the Wild Things Are.
His main inspiration is Japanese culture, and as a result, he creates a lot of eastern dragon sculptures like the incense dragon. He focuses mostly on textures although I didn't do that for mine (I kinda forgot lol).

I am so happy it survived the kiln. I'd hate to spend a week on it and then have it blow up. Luckily it didn't.
