@couch_jedi_fluffy's post on Artfol

Yellow y’all, so like many others I ditched instagram. I’ve had Artfol for a while before this so I’m glad to have this place to alway lean back to. ✨

But I’ve seen many go over to this “Cara” app. I haven’t tried it myself but what do you guys think of it?

I've heard it's kind of mid. But other people seem to really like it. I am of the opinion that now platform will be perfect, and honestly, when you are just starting out, digging in and putting down roots in one site is probably better than spreading all over the place. I find it exhausting to keep up with three places, so I think I'll just deal with it.
I have a Cara account and really like it so far. It’s like a cross between Instagram and Twitter.
Same. Instagram’s algorithm is not letting my post being shown to anyone. Cara has built-in Glaze program to protect artists’ works from AI. More updates coming. I’m also posting on Bluesky, Hive Social, Inkblot, Itaku, and Tumblr. NSFW art is allow on Inkblot, Itaku, and Bluesky. Better not put any effort on Meta apps.

An artist friend was scammed by a fraud on Instagram. That person deleted its account after taking the funds. Instagram did nothing. They keep banning account with false assumption. Their bots are terrible on judging. Keeping spam accounts and disable innocent ones.
I think it has the most promise out of any new indie platforms for artists. It has more dev support and moderation support than Artfol and it's the most anti AI platform out there with the creator in lawsuits fighting against AI and there's a detector that will prevent AI images from being posted on Cara
honestly i tried also Bluesky but prefer Cara to that one! probably because BSk is more similar to twitter idk, but Cara seems really a nice platform at the moment! it’s true that now it’s mostly used by artists so the engagement is pretty different from the one on insta
It's alright. It looks similar to Instagram. Just in dark mode. You can customize your home page to show more of those you follow or those you don't. Right now, my only issues with it is that you can't really scroll much. So the latest always only shows the freshest posts.

They don't allow NSFW yet due to it requireing moderators and they're trying to look for them.
Also! Just out of curiousity, I checked how many photos I can fit into one post. I could insert 30 in total (haven't tried more)
So it seems rather comic-friendly
