Sjfjej h e l l o . Today we have another drawing of Amity Blight. I'm hoping someone could possibly help me when it comes to lighting and shading because I currently am struggling with that! Any criticism you leave I will take into account! :)Nov 22, 2020

hi! i can give you some tips on shading! shade with a darker and cooler version of the original color. so if you’re going to shade something green, make it a bit darker and then slide the color wheel only a little bit towards blue. when choosing colors to make lighter the process is pretty similar! make the original color lighter and warmer (so if your original color was orange, then the color you highlight with will lean more in the yellow direction!) when it comes to the actual shading part, use references! i did a piece a few months with dramatic lighting and references saved me. also, idk which program you use, but try other brushes besides an airbrush to shade with. it can add texture and make your art look more professional! one more thing is to add overlays. this will help your colors look more cohesive and can add atmosphere. i know this was a lot, but i thought i’d share what i do whenever i draw! hope this helps and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask :)
