i almost always abandon stuff right before its finished, and a few days later, i start seeing the funky proportions and dont ever want to get back to it. i also tend to get bored if i spend more than an hour on something.

I know how you feel 
usually i abandon works around half done but if i leave a piece waiting for a few days i can abandon even almost finished one. That’s why i try to get works done ’in one go’, they start to look awful the more i leave them be xD
