Try some gesture drawing to get a feel for 3d shape. Simplifying shapes won't help if you don't know what the feel like.
I can’t either 😩
Whenever I struggle with anatomy it stresses me tf out, but then I realize if I just mess around without the intention of showing anyone and “shitpost” in a sense with my own ocs, it’ll get me wanting to draw more full bodies or mess with anatomy in general. It doesn’t have to be perfect!

If you want to do a full blow piece, remember to use references! You can even trace over some photos and make simple shapes with them, and I think as long as you don’t use that as a base but more of a point of reference all is good. The best way to learn is practice. As long as you keep going you’ll feel more comfortable doing bodies. Everyone has different techniques and tips.

I think the best resources to use are photos, Pinterest, youtube (or any video platform like tiktok), and your own brain.

What I learnt throughout the years is if you overwhelm yourself to only improve without enjoying the process you will be struck with artblock constantly. My best advice is to keep sketching, sketch often, and make it something you’ll have fun with!!!

I hope this helps! 😭💦
Check proko for anatomy videos and do lots of daily gesture studies, even if it's only like 5 minutes a day with 30 second gesture drawings. It'll get better over time.

It also might be worth it to watch anatomy drawing videos from different YouTubers and see how they approach it to see if any of those methods feels more natural for you m
I usually do some studies of individual body parts and just… do a color blob of the general shape, then fill it in with a sketch tbh, not very helpful
I struggle with seeing poses as well. You can try going over actual images and try to find the dynamism and the structure of the pose. Honestly I just... Jumped in the pool? You'd be surprised how much you're actually able to do when you just do it without overthinking it as much (it's something all artists do) 🥰🤗
I roccomend starting learning the general shapes of the skeleton 💀✨
Honestly boxes n stuff really don't help me. I focus on shapes, gesture and reference photos. Really the whole boxes build, skeleton study etc never worked for me,,,
I use the app 'easy poser' it helps me do anatomy try to download it owo)
(人 •͈ᴗ•͈) books...they have anatomy drawing books you can get some amazing tips from. There's also YouTube videos as well. when it comes to drawing anatomy mastering one section of the body at a time helps. Instead of taking on the whole... If all those fail you then I guess don't stop trying till you see some form of success...乁( •_• )ㄏ
Honestly, I just look at skeletal and muscles references. Plus, whatever other ref I need for what I'm drawing. If I don't understand what I'm looking at, fake it till you make it.
Ahh yes, that’s what I thought about myself before too, but then I kept practicing 💪 (and I still can’t do it)
