I recently subscribed to lotusbubble on Patreon and omg highly recommend checking it out! Firstly her art is just so beautiful but also she has so many tutorials on her Patreon and they were all so helpful!!!

This is the first digital painting I have done following Lydia’s method and the process was so much fun!

I have been wanting to learn how to paint in a more painterly style for a while now I always felt like my drawings lacked a lot of texture and I would obsess over getting everything perfect especially when it came to line art that I often found my art look stiff, but painting like this gave me so much more freedom to make decisions as I went along and idk about you but rendering is my favourite part and well painting is basically rendering the whole time all you need is a sketch!

I definitely think line art is still amazing and it’s something I will still use but I definitely plan on using some of these painting methods in my art in the future!Jan 23, 2021
