If you were able to talk to yourself when you were a beginner artist, what advice would you give/what would you say?Jul 20, 2022

Use references from real life, you'll thank me once you get obsessed with drawing ccelebrities.
I would simply tell my younger self to keep going on the path im on right now, and to draw what I want to draw. :•)
I would tell my younger beginner artist self to actually pay attention and apply things learned from tutorials and stuff, and to take your time. Don’t search for a miracle that will turn your art and animation into pro level stuff in 2 simple steps😂
“Don’t be afraid to draw fan art cause honestly, I make fan animations now and no one makes fun so draw whatever you want, even if it’s cringe.”
practice every day. doesn't matter if it's a fully finished artwork or just a doodle.
I would tell myself to not be afraid of using tutorials or asking for help. I wasn’t drawing seriously though (I drew weird Minecraft people).
You'll get good eventually, just look for art centric communities and have fun with it. And keep using references, no tracing
Sketch first then do line art and use references
I guess I'll also leave something here lol. I think I would tell myself to stop caring so much about how to make your art fit what's seen as normal, stop overly comparing yourself to others. And use more references 😭
there’s nothing wrong with drawing fanart. it’s fun, it makes you happy, it lets you practice skills while already having a character in mind. i used to rlly push myself for original art bc at some point i got the idea fanart wasn’t real art—when i broke out of that mindset i drew 10x more and got 10x better
STOP WATCHING DEVIANTCRINGE STOP WATCHING DEVIANTCRINGE

DO NOT GIVE INTO CRINGE CULTURE IT WILL MAKE YOUR SHIT BORING AS HELL
Don't quit. Keep going, try to keep your work better. The people who shame you are afraid of you. Don't let them steal that light.
Don’t try to confine your style without giving it a chance to develop
Learn to draw hard surfaces and industrial designing, also stick with 3d sculpting
Find sites to practice anatomy and use references
