Hey y'all! Word of caution!
If someone slides into your DMs on desktop now saying they're an art director for an artshow trying to get 4 illustrations from you, please be incredibly aware this is like 99.9% a scam.
It comes off incredibly innocent but no art director is going to have 0 credentials on their profile - no link to a site, no actual artwork, stolen banner art from a notable US cartoonist. There will be a company associated and all the work will be commercial use if a real director comes to you for freelance work online. The work will be incredibly specific to what they want/need and in most cases they will offer an amount for the work they're asking you to do.
Please be careful and don't fall for these to good to be true situations where an art director is choosing you out of the lot with no proof of who they are, who they work for, the project, wage etc.Apr 30, 2023
