When introducing Kain and Ashley, I made the mistake of giving Ashley a cat she stole from the shelter (because it shows just what a ray of sunshine she is! To steal a kitty from a shelter that otherwise would have stayed there, without much love to receive) ...
She originally doesn't have a cat...
But now I kinda fell for the idea of her actually stealing a cat that nobody else would have adopted and loved like she would!
NOW TO THE ACTUAL QUESTION:
What do you think would a cat be like that people just wouldn't adopt?

There's lots of unfortunate reasons people would leave pets or not adopt them.
Being old, terminally sick or disabled is definitely one of them. Being visually unappealing is also a big factor, if they've been in an accident or look 'not normal', people tend to overlook them. Cats that are too aggressive or have some kind of trauma are usually ignored as well, because it takes a lot of work to rehabilitate or look after it.
Another reason can just be stereotypes; some people dont get black cats 'cuz they' bring bad luck'. Im pretty sure there are other cultural reasons one might not want a cat. Id adopt all of them if I could tho

•Hiya! I haven't been to a shelter but I live in an area with a lot of stray cats. From what I've noticed, a lot of them are black since they're unjustly associated with bad luck. Hope this helps a little :")

•A cat that people don't adopt, I would say it's either an old cat, one with a lot of scar or not very popular colors, or toi common colors, like european coat for exemple
It's so common, and in shelters people tend to go with cats that have more uncommon coats or that are younger and very friendly ( speaking from experience here )
