LeFacciotte100K (DTIYS Entry)
I’ve done another digital art piece once again, and this time it’s my entry for a draw-this-in-your-style challenge hosted by LeFacciotte. This is one of my baby steps in learning kidlit-style art, so I kept the look bright, simple, and playful.In my artwork, a cute little girl rides her pink scooter along a grassy path. She has long brown hair flowing behind her, and her big eyes look forward with a cheerful, determined expression. She’s dressed in a green jumper with a bright pink flower on the chest, rainbow-striped sleeves, and sunny yellow trousers. Her orange boots, covered in tiny spots, match the lively feel of the piece.
In one hand, she holds the scooter’s handle, and in the other, she grips the string of a pink balloon with “100” printed on it. A blue basket at the front of the scooter carries a bunch of colourful tulips.
Behind her, hugging her waist, is her blue dog, who wears an orange cap decorated with a yellow star. The dog stands on the scooter deck with her, looking happy and loyal.
The setting is fresh and springlike—green grass dotted with tulips in pink and yellow, with blue and pink clouds floating above. The whole scene feels soft, sunny, and full of movement.
I think it turned out fine for my first try at this type of style. But since I’m still in my baby steps with kidlit art, I can already see the things I need to work on—like making the shapes flow more naturally and refining my colour balance. Still, it’s a good start, and I’m glad I joined the challenge.Aug 11, 2025
