Chaotic positive feedback loops. Everyone hyperfocuses on bad things happening, and all forms of media tend to perpetuate it. It just leads to everyone being miserable without anything to do about it. I don't look at any news anymore, otherwise I'd just be constantly worrying about global issues every day.

100% agreed with what Olliepop and Weebeart said. We all need to be kind to one another and not push each other apart.

I see everyone here saying things like Capitalism, climate change, etc... but when I think of social issues, I think human issues. Issues with people and their emotions and actions, and how they act.
So if we're going by that, I think our society has a serious lack of empathy and respect for one another.
People don't know how to get into someone's shoes anymore and understand the world from their view, or at least be able to have common ground even when they don't agree with eachother. Politics are so violent and toxic because no one side tries to make an attempt to understand and give them even an ounce of respect, which causes these "I'm right your wrong" and "Them vs. Us" mentalities to show up. People get stuck up in their own heads about themselves and their beliefs that they can't fathom someone being different from them.
That last sentence applies to a lot of other things as well; societal, economical, environmental-- everything is affected my empathy and respect, or a lack of it in this case. It's a very important trait, and as much od a burden as it can feel like at times, if we don't make an attempt to understand others or the world around us, it'll just be a dog-eat-dog world that's stuck in it's old ways.
I wish we could all be kind in this world. But hey, I'm just a random teen on the internet; I don't know shit about the REAL real world lmao
Remember the golden rule, folks: treat others the way you want to be treated!
