I was obsessed with meteors, vulcans weird happenings in the world. There was an enormous explosion of some kind in the Siberian tundra, the kind that seismic data cloud register on the other side of the world, worth the power of atomic bombs, long before anyone even thought of bombs like that. There is no crater, but thousands of crashed trees for miles, and nobody knows for sure what happend till this day.

My greek mythology phase started a few years ago when I started reading Percy Jackson and is still going on lmao. Tantalus killed his own son and served him to the gods to see if they would notice. They did, and cursed him and his whole bloodline to kill each other. There were so many murders, I can't recall them all. We did a family tree in class. It was a mess. At one point there was the king Agamemnon, who sacrificed his daughter Iphigenie to Artemis. He then was killed by his wife Klytaimnestra and her lover for killing their daughter. Then their son Orest(es) killed her for killing his dad. Orest and his cousin Pylades were told by Apollo to bring the sister home and the curse would be broken, so they wanted to steal a statue of Artemis (Apollo's sister) on the island Tauris, but they were caught and sent to prison, were they wete intorregated by Iphigenie, who survived because Artemis saved her. They realized it was her they had to bring home and broke the curse. This was more a whole ass story than a fun fact and I apologize if this isn't correct, I'm trusting Goethe right now that he wrote an accurate play based on the myth

I had a greek mythology phase too, and also the dinosaurs and natural history(big bang, formation of the moon, etc), and I used to think that I had an obsession with science, but looking back, I’m sure it was a history obsession. Since I’m still technically a kid, my current historical obsessions are the French Revolution and the Bolshevik/Russian Revolution, revolutions in general actually, I think it’s very interesting to see how different groups of people fight/affect the government :) also with the bolsheviks, the whole imperialism vs communism debate is very fun to think about

For me it was ancient Egypt. I don't even know why but young me had to look through every book about it. Fun fact: just like how in the greek mythology, the "main goods" Osiris and Isis were siblings AND married.
